1927

With the game of golf continuing to boom, the Board of Governors foresaw the need to build an 18 hole championship golf course. Renowned golf course architect William Flynn was hired to lead the project.

On May 28, 1927, the Spring Mill Golf Course in Gladwyne, where the club presides today, was ceremoniously opened as Club President Edward Stotesbury drove the first ball off the tee to mark the Spring Mill Course’s place in golf history.
